Katherine’s Famous Healthy Turkey Chili

  • 1 lb 99% fat free ground turkey
  • 1 15 oz. can hominy (Yellow or White)
  • 1 15 oz. can ranch style beans
  • 1 15 oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 1 pkg regular chili seasoning (The spicy one tastes better).
  • 1/4 finely diced yellow or white onion
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil).


Pour olive oil into sauce pan and heat on medium for 3 minutes. Add onions and garlic and saute for 3 minutes. Add turkey.  Using a wooden spoon separate the ground turkey into bits and mix with the onions and garlic.  Brown the meat until cooked all the way through (about 4-5 minutes). Reduce heat.

Drain liquid from hominy can.

Combine all other ingredients (hominy, beans, tomatos and tomato sauce), stir and simmer (uncovered) for 15 minutes.

Serve plain with brown rice or tasty cornbread. Enjoy!
