Spatula Dad's Baked Zombie Kale Chips

Kale is one of the best things you can consume and it's loaded with beneficial nutrients.  I convinced my kids to try our version of baked kale chips and they love it! Super easy to make and plenty of opportunity to have your kids help you in the kitchen.


I'm also a fan of the hit TV show, The Walking Dead.  Don't recommend kids viewing that show but it's entertaining for adults. We decided to make a video of our culinary adventure. You may notice some humor and resemblance to The Walking Dead.  Check it out below:

Spike Seasoning
Kale (You want the flat-leaf type..Dino or Dinosaur Kale (not the curly kind) or
try both and see what tastes best!  Use two bunches of kale because you'll eat all of it.


Preheat oven on Bake to 275 degrees. Wash the kale leaves then dry them off with a paper towel.

Drizzle a light amount of olive oil in a large bowl. Spread the oil around with your fingers.

Sprinkle Spike Seasoning on the oil then slide the kale leaves around the bowl. Make sure
you coat the entire leaf on each side.

Place some parchment paper over a cookie sheet then lay the leaves out side by side. Place in the oven
and cook for 25-30 minutes. They're ready when they're crisp.
